pharr fire station no. 3

2 0 1 6

Pharr, Texas

For many years, Firemen working at Station Number 3 in the Las Milpas section of Pharr were forced to endure cramped quarters and insufficient air conditioning. Meanwhile, the Pharr Police Department substation, housed in the same building, had excessive unused space. SGA was tasked with re-working the overall spatial distribution of the facility while ensuring that both critical Fire and Police services remained uninterrupted. SGA worked hand in hand with Pharr Fire Department Fire Chief and senior Police personnel to create a design that worked for all concerned parties. The project renovation included a new common room, kitchen, bunk room, restrooms, showers, workout room, and offices for the Fire Department. The Police substation was re-programmed to serve as a smaller facility -- useful to patrol officers and the immediate local neighborhood.
